Soillerie, set within the area of the Cairngorms National Park,is an original farmhouse whose name is Gaelic for 'Home of Light and Knowledge'. The house, which has been modified and extended, is approached by a private roadway and is situated towards the northern end of the village, overlooking the RSPB Reserve of Insh Marshes. There are walks from Insh leading onto the Reserve and to forests, hills and Glen Feshie. Visitor's comment: We have rented many cottages in various parts of the British Isles, and this was the best one. It was comfortable, spacious, warm, dry and well-placed for views, solitude, and the excellent amenities of Aviemore. The accommodation available for letting comprises: Ground Floor - small porch; hall; lounge with open fireplace and SkyPlus TV; second lounge with open fireplace; large sun lounge with video recorder and SkyPlus TV; dining room; kitchen with cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher; wc with walk-in shower; utility room with washing machine. The house is tastefully furnished. There are lots of books and some jigsaws and videos. Heating is by oil-fired boiler and, together with electricity, is included in the charge. One dog is allowed, by arrangement with ourselves. This holiday area is a haven for wildlife - in particular, birds, red squirrels and deer. It offers a wide variety of holiday activities: skiing, water sports, riding, cycling, golf, gliding, fishing, steam railway, wildlife/adventure parks.
